Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti provided injury update on star midfielder Jude Bellingham after the first leg of the Champions League semi-final against Bayern Munich on Tuesday, which ended in a 2-2 draw at the Allianz Arena.

According to The Athletic, Bellingham had a virus last week and had barely trained ahead of the match against Bayern Munich. The England international also suffered from cramps during the match.

“He'll be back to his best. He had the injury, which affected him considerably. He hasn't been at his best, but he'll be back very soon and by Wednesday he'll be at 100%," Ancelotti said.

“Jude Bellingham was not at the best level tonight, but same for the entire team. Bellingham got cramps after 60 mins so I had to sub him off,” he added.

Madrid's Vinicius Jr scored twice, including a late penalty, to help his side secure a 2-2 draw at Bayern Munich.

The Brazilian gave Madrid the lead after 24 minutes and has now notched up a goal in the semi-finals of UCL for a third successive season.

"We always want to win but we know that this competition is like that, you can't give away balls because teams score the chances they have," Vinicius Jr said.

"We have to keep our heads calm, rest until next week and we know that we and the fans are going to leave everything at the Santiago Bernabeu to qualify.

"Now it's time for a magical night at home to win and secure our place in the final.”

Bayern went ahead after netting twice in four minutes early in the second half through a Leroy Sane strike and Harry Kane penalty.

Real Madrid will host Bayern Munich at the Bernabeu for the second leg of their Champions League semi-final on Wednesday May 8.
