Zuckerberg took to Facebook to make the stunning revelation, along with a WhatsApp record — the chatting platform recorded 25 million messages per second during the mega final.

"Leo Messi's World Cup post is now the most liked in Instagram history. WhatsApp also reached a record 25 million messages per second during the final," he wrote.

The 35-year-old admitted that this was his "last chance" to win a FIFA World Cup because he had previously stated that this would be his final appearance for Argentina in the international competition.
