The rules have been underlined for the heavyweight bout involving Mike Tyson and Jake Paul on July 20.

The bout includes two-minute rounds and 14-ounce gloves for an officially sanctioned professional match, slated for eight rounds.

As it is an officially sanctioned professional encounter, the result will contribute to their respective records. Tyson holds a record of 50 wins and 6 losses, with 44 knockouts, while Paul stands at 9 victories and 1 defeat, with 6 knockouts.

The regulations were proposed by the promoter, Holden Boxing LLC, as confirmed by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, the governing body for combat sports in Texas. The bout is scheduled to take place on July 20 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

Standard fights feature three-minute rounds and 10-ounce gloves, which Tyson used to deliver devastating knockouts during his professional career.

The two-minute rounds are expected to favour Tyson due to potential issues for the boxer who will be 58 at the time of the fight. The 14-ounce gloves are expected to favour Paul because the heavier gloves could soften the impact of Tyson's punches.

Whether Tyson, 57, and Paul, 27, would face off in an exhibition or a professional bout has been a matter of speculation since the fight was announced on March 7.

It must be noted that the fight will be broadcast by Netflix.
