The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) boss Dana White revealed the conversation he had with Mike Tyson’s wife Likhia Spicer ahead of the fight against YouTube celebrity Jake Paul.

Tyson, widely regarded as one of the most fierce boxers of all time, will be taking on Paul on July 20 at the AT&T Stadium in Texas. When the fight takes place, Iron Mike would be 58 years old and there would be a whopping 31-year difference between the two.

White, just like everyone, is not taking the fight too seriously but he is sure that Tyson is not taking it lightly and would be willing to give his all once he is inside the ring.

"I love Mike Tyson and I'm not a fan of anybody fighting at our age, but he's a grown man obviously and he's going to do what he's going to do. I talked to his wife a couple of days ago and he's taking it seriously and he's training for it," White said spilling the beans to Lex Fridman.

"I think Mike Tyson is one of the most unique guys who have crossed over, any of the other fighters from his generation have no way of making money without fighting and Mike Tyson has made a lot of money outside of fighting. Tyson still has that aura that you could be in a restaurant, you'd be like 'Holy f***, Mike Tyson is here.'".

Remember, names like Conor McGregor, Eddie Hearn and others have expressed their concerns about the upcoming fight considering the substantial 31-year age difference between the two contenders, evident safety apprehensions are preceding the encounter.

Several boxing and UFC enthusiasts have voiced concerns for Tyson's well-being, especially given Iron Mike's retirement from professional boxing dating back to 2005.
