Arsenal's head coach Mikel Arteta has provided updates on the injuries of Gabriel Magalhaes and Declan Rice following concerns during Saturday's 5-0 triumph over Crystal Palace.

The Gunners secured a decisive victory at the Emirates Stadium, reigniting their pursuit of the Premier League title after a dismal run of results.

Arteta's team had fallen behind Liverpool and Manchester City in the title race, managing just one win and suffering three losses in their last five league games.

However, they inflicted further misery on Crystal Palace in North London, leading 2-0 at half-time with a goal from Gabriel and an own goal by Dean Henderson, both resulting from corners.

Leandro Trossard scored a third goal just before the hour mark, and Gabriel Martinelli's late brace in stoppage time turned the comfortable victory into a thrashing.

However, Arsenal didn't emerge unharmed. Rice grimaced as he left the pitch for Jorginho in the 73rd minute, raising concerns. Gabriel did the same 10 minutes from time, making way for Jakub Kiwior.

After the full-time whistle, Arteta confirmed that he substituted Rice as a precaution due to discomfort in his hamstring. Gabriel seems to be a more significant concern, facing an issue with his knee.

"Declan [Rice] was feeling something, a sensation in his hamstring, so we won't take any risks at 3-0," Arteta explained.

He added: "The other is Gabriel Magalhaes. He had a tackle in the first half on his knee, and he was struggling. I hope [it's not serious]."

Arsenal is currently without Jurrien Timber, Takehiro Tomiyasu, Mohamed Elneny, Thomas Partey, and Fabio Viera due to injuries.

Arsenal will resume play in 10 days with a potentially challenging visit to Nottingham Forest, a team that has become more resilient under former Tottenham Hotspur boss Nuno Espirito Santo.

The Spanish coach aims to utilise the period leading up to the City Ground trip to provide some rest for his players before returning to training.
