Olympian swimmer Kiran thanked Punjab government

LAHORE: Olympian swimmer Kiran Khan thanked the Punjab government for recognizing her achievements and honoring her on the occasion of women's day 2022.

Taking to Twitter, Khan wrote an appreciation note for Chief Minister Usman Buzdar-led Punjab government.

"Thank you Punjab government for honoring me with this special women's day award for my services to Pakistan as an athlete. I’m humbled and truly grateful. Thank you to all the people who have helped me become who I am today," she wrote. 

Kiran was the first Pakistani female swimmer who participated in Olympics in Beijing in 2008. Her sister Bismah Khan represented Pakistan in Tokyo Olympics 2020.
