In the second ODI between India and Australia in Indore, seasoned Australian batter David Warner surprised everyone by switching to a right-handed batting stance.

The Australian team faced a daunting target of 399 runs, and they needed a strong start. Unfortunately, they lost the crucial wickets of Matthew Short and Steven Smith in just the second over, putting them on the defensive.

In contrast, Warner remained composed and decided to bat right-handed in the middle of the innings. This wasn't the first time Warner had showcased this unconventional skill, as he had done so on a few occasions in the past.

He gradually found his rhythm and even reached his half-century against the Indian bowlers.

He faced four balls as a right-hander and also swept one for four. He was eventually dismissed lbw by Ashwin when he tried to play a reverse sweep as a right-hander. He departed after scoring 53 runs from 39 deliveries.

Meanwhile, Australian captain Pat Cummins and others were in complete disbelief when Warner stroked Ashwin for a four.

It must be noted that Australia and India are playing a three-match ODI series in preparation for World Cup 2023, scheduled to start from October 5.

India had previously secured a five-wicket victory in the first ODI, thanks to a superb five-wicket haul from Mohammed Shami. They currently lead the three-match series 1-0.
