Tottenham Hotspur defender Eric Dier arrived in Germany to complete his move to German powerhouses Bayern Munich on a €4m deal, reported Sky Sports on Wednesday.

Dier fell out of favour at the North London club with manager Ange Postecoglou and only played four matches all season, he was told by the Aussie that he could leave the club.

The Englishman will undergo a medical at the Bavarian club after which the official announcement will be made and if things go according to the plan, Dier will soon reunite with his former Tottenham teammate, Harry Kane.

"From experience, we know things can go wrong in the final seconds. He [Dier] is in Munich and we are trying to finalise the deal and find another alternative in the defensive position in our squad. But I'd like to wait before the ink has dried,” Thomas Tuchel said of Dier in a presser.

"I think that he is more or less a specialist in the central defensive role. He's played as a holding midfielder in the past. He can play as part of a back four and three at the back so we can free up Leon Goretzka in midfield so he doesn't have to switch between playing as a No 8 and being deeper.

"We're still focusing on other positions and we'll see if anything else happens."

Dier is set to be replaced at Spurs by Genoa central defender Radu Dragusin who was signed for a £25 million deal to the North London club.

On the other hand, Djed Spence, a right-back who fell out of favour and was recalled from his season-long loan at Leeds, is expected to move in the opposite direction.

The potential deal for Dragusin faced uncertainty on Tuesday night when Bayern Munich submitted a late formal offer for the Romanian.

However, Dragusin chose to join Spurs, leading to Bayern renewing their interest in Tottenham's Dier.
