Real Madrid’s veteran midfield duo of Toni Kroos and Luka Modric is set to renew their contracts for one more season, reported renowned Spanish journalist Jose Felix Diaz on Saturday.

Both players will extend their current deal till 2025 as Madrid maintain their policy of offering one-year contracts to players age 30 or above.

As per Diaz, Madrid’s president Florentino Perez took matters into his own hands regarding the renewal of both players. Modric has given his yes to the president while Kroos is about to.

As per reports in Spain, Madrid’s head coach Carlo Ancelotti pushed for the renewal of both stars as the Italian believes they still have much to offer despite their age. Kroos has been a regular starter while Modric often comes off the bench.

Kroos and Modric have marked an era at Real Madrid as ever since their debut with Los Blancos, the midfielders have been a part of the regular playing XI. They were also part of the historic Madrid side that won three UEFA Champions League in a row from 2016 to 2018 under the leadership of Zinedine Zidane.

As both midfielders will continue their journey with Los Blancos, Dani Ceballos is expected to bid farewell to the club as he will not be getting many minutes to play next season.

Remember, Madrid have won La Liga this season and with two more matches — against Villarreal and Real Betis — left in the league, they could finish with 99 points this season.

Real Madrid will face Borussia Dortmund in the UEFA Champions League final on June 1 at England’s iconic Wembley Stadium in pursuit of their record-extending European championship.

If Madrid managed to beat Dortmund, this would be their eighth Champions League title since 2000, more than any team in the world.
