The Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) side Comilla Victorians have announced the retention of Pakistan's star pacer Naseem Shah for the 2024 edition of the event.

Naseem, 20, is set to do his magic with the defending champions, who are looking forward to retaining their title.

"Get ready, Comilla Victorians fans! The Flash, Naseem Shah, is here to light up the pitch this season," the team said in a statement on its official social media channels.

Naseem will join his countrymen Iftikhar Ahmed and Mohammad Rizwan, who have also been signed by the same side.

Rizwan will play for the Victorians for the second consecutive season. In the previous edition of BPL, the right-hand batter notched up 351 runs in 10 matches with a 50.14 average and a strike-rate of 126.25. He also scored four half-centuries.

Meanwhile, Bangladeshi sources reported on Friday that two more Pakistani cricketers, Khushdil Shah and Zaman Khan, have been signed by the same team.

The team also announced the signing of Afghanistan's spinner Noor Ahmed while they had already retained Bangladesh’s pacer Mustafizur Rahman and top-order batter Litton Das.

On the other hand, Pakistan captain Babar Azam was roped in by Rangpur Riders earlier this month.

The prolific right-hander will feature in the BPL for the first time since 2017, when he played for Sylhet Sixers.

It must be noted after making his debut against Zimbabwe in 2015 in Lahore, Azam has changed the fortunes of Pakistan cricket as the team which was recognised due to their batting failures has now turned into a match-winning outfit.

Additionally, Pakistan’s pacer Ihsanullah will also be part of the Riders for the 2024 edition of BPL.

The next edition of BPL is expected to take place in January-February 2024.
