Virat Kohli was in sublime form during the 2024 Indian Premier League (IPL) game between Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala on Thursday.

Kohli had a stroke of luck at the beginning of his innings, surviving two dropped catches, but he ensured to capitalise on the opportunity.

He achieved his sixth half-century, marking his 55th overall in the tournament.

He smashed a 47-ball 92, smashing six maximums and seven fours.

In this season as he surpassed 600 runs this season as well as 1000 runs against Punjab in the history of the IPL.

With that, Kohli drew level with KL Rahul for the most seasons with 600 or more runs in the IPL.

Kohli remarked that it was crucial to maintain his strike rate throughout the innings, noting that it was a challenging phase when Patidar was dismissed and the rain and hail began.

“Was important for me to keep up the strike rate right through,” Virat Kohli said with a smile.

“There was a bit of a tricky phase when Patidar got out and rain came. Green got a couple of boundaries and then I thought it was time for me to go after the bowling. When the seamers were bowling up front, it was two-paced. It was dry and the ball was stopping it. Due to the two-pace nature, it’s an opportunity for our pacers to exploit the swing,” he added.

Remember, added two more points on the IPL 2024 points after a 60-run win over Punjab Kings.

RCB now have 10 points and are seventh on the table. Punjab Kings became the second team to get out of the playoff race after Mumbai Indians.
