PSL 8: 'After Quetta, PSL's umbrella should be expanded to Muzaffarabad,' says Afridi

QUETTA: Former international cricketer Shahid Khan Afridi said Pakistan Super League (PSL)'s umbrella should be expanded to Muzaffarabad, Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

Afridi, who is making special appearance from Peshawar Zalmi in PSL 8 exhibition match, said it's a big day for people of Quetta. 

"Today is a big day for Quetta. I am happy to be back here for cricket. It's heartening to see smile on the faces of people here," said Afridi. 

"Credit goes to PCB, Balochistan government and our security forces. PSL is Pakistan's brand and it should be taken to all cities. After Quetta, PSL's umbrella should be expanded to Muzaffarabad, Azad Jammu and Kashmir," shared the star cricketer. 

While speaking about local Quetta talent, Afridi said it's a good opportunity for them. 

"There is lot of talent in Quetta. I have worked a lot here with my foundation. People here need support and opportunities," highlighted Afridi. 

"Not only in cricket, but Quetta has a lot of talent in boxing and football too. These youngsters also need opportunities. I will try my best to highlight this city and its people," he concluded. 

Afridi is one of the star players who is currently featuring in exhibition match in Quetta. 

The star all-rounder also featured in last international match that took place between Pakistan and Zimbabwe in Quetta back in 1996. It was his ODI debut year. He scored 28 runs and picked up a wicket when he last appeared in an ODI in Quetta.
