Allah fulfilled my wish to open batting with Babar: Haris

QUETTA: Young batter Mohammad Haris is excited to open batting with Babar Azam for Peshawar Zalmi.

In an exclusive interview with geosuper.tv, Haris said that his opening batting stint with Azam will start in exhibition match against Quetta Gladiators on Sunday, February 5.

“Allah has fulfilled my wish to open batting with Babar bhai,” shared Haris. “I am very excited about it. Hopefully, I and Babar will start opening batting for Peshawar from tomorrow in exhibition match. I wish to have a longer time with him.”

In one of the biggest trades of the tournament, Zalmi roped in Azam in the Platinum category and the first pick in the supplementary round for Haider Ali and Shoaib Malik who moved to Karachi Kings in Platinum and Diamond categories, respectively, before the trade and retention window closed.

Like fans in Quetta, Haris is also looking forward to the much-awaited exhibition contest on February 5 at the Bugti Stadium.

“It is good for Pakistan as this exhibition match is taking place in Quetta. PSL is for the whole Pakistan, every city deserves it,” he highlighted.

“I hope this match becomes successful and Quetta get PSL matches next year,” he added.

While talking about Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) experience, Haris said it was a learning experience for him.

“International league gives you experience. I had a very good time there. I look forward to implementing that experience in PSL as I have started preparing for the league a week ago,” said Haris who scored 63 runs in four BPL 2023 matches.
