Pakistan Cup: Balochistan beat Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to set up final clash with Central Punjab

Bismillah Khan and Kashif Bhatti scored a half-century each

Balochistan beat Khyber Pakhtunkhwa by 38 runs, to set up a final clash with Central Punjab in the Pakistan Cup, at the State Bank Stadium in Karachi on Sunday.

Balochistan posted a massive 302 runs before restricting KP to 264 runs in 47.1 overs.

In reply, KP's opening batters Fakhar Zaman and Waqar Ahmed couldn't deliver as they were sent back after scoring seven and zero, respectively.

However, Sahibzada Farhan rose to the occasion and scored 57 runs in 94 balls.

Meanwhile, wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Haris scored 63 runs, while Adil Amin gathered 76 runs.

For Balochistan, Amad Butt claimed four wickets, while Mohammad Junaid and Khurram Shehzad secured two scalps.

Kashif Bhatti and Yasir Shah also took a wicket each.

Earlier, Balochistan posted a big target of 302 runs in 50 overs, thanks to Bismillah Khan and Kashif Bhatti's half-centuries.

However, Balochistan's top-order gave them an early scare as Haseebullah, Imran Butt and Muhammad Junaid were all dismissed in the 20s, while Abdul Wahid Bangalzai (18), Asad Shafiq (14) and Haris Sohail (14) also couldn't deliver in the big semi-final.

Bismillah scored 65 runs in 78 balls, while Kashif smashed a blistering 69 runs in 52 balls to keep their side in control. 

For KP, Pakistan all-rounder Iftikhar Ahmed claimed three wickets, while Mohammad Amir Khan and Ihsanullah took a wicket each.

Central Punjab qualified for the final of the Pakistan Cup 2022-23 with a thumping 82-run win over Southern Punjab at the State Bank Stadium on Saturday.
