LAHORE: Northern and Sindh are set to lock horns in Pakistan's premium domestic tournament Quaid-e-Azam Trophy 2022-23's final tomorrow.

Regular captains-less teams will face off each other in the final of mega event for the very first time. The two sides never won the trophy before.

Sindh has made its maiden qualification to the final since the revamp of the domestic system in 2019-20. However, Northern failed to win the title twice (2019-20 and 2021-22 seasons).

With an aim to win their maiden title, the two teams take the challenge tomorrow here at Gaddafi Stadium.

Both the teams will miss some of their main players alongside regular captains. Northern’s captain Nauman Ali, Sindh's captain Saud Shakeel, wicketkeeper-batter Sarfaraz Ahmed and spinners Abrar Ahmed and Zahid Mehmood have joined Pakistan's Test squad in Rawalpindi for home series against England.

Khurram Manzoor, having scored 602 runs this season, will captain Sindh whereas Northern will be led by Umar Amin.

Northern's young batter Mohammad Huraira, who finished as the top-scorer last season, will have a chance to continue his reign at the top this time around too. He is currently third highest run-scorer with 803 runs. He just needs 65 runs to surpass Central Punjab (CP)'s Abdullah Shafique who sits at the top with 867 runs.

Abrar Ahmed is the leading wicket-taker in the season with 43 wickets followed by Northern's Mubasir Khan (28). The right-arm leggie is likely to finish as the best bowler of the tournament.
