The Pakistan Super League (PSL) is the premier professional Twenty20 cricket league in Pakistan. Owned and operated by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), its inaugural season was held in the United Arab Emirates in 2016.
The league initially consisted of five franchises: Karachi Kings, Quetta Gladiators, Peshawar Zalmi, Islamabad United, and Lahore Qalandars. The third edition in 2018 saw the expansion to six teams with the addition of the Multan Sultans.
Looking ahead, the historic 11th edition of the tournament is set to feature two new franchises, increasing the number of teams from six to eight. Hyderabad and Rawalpindi will join the league with the respective team names of Hyderabad Houston Kingsmen and Rawalpindiz.
