The historic 11th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) is set to begin on March 26, with defending champions Lahore Qalandars facing debutants Hyderabad Houston Kingsmen.
As the tournament approaches, excitement among fans is reaching new heights, with many backing their favourite teams to claim this year’s title.
Let’s take a look at some of the key statistics from the PSL over the years.
Islamabad United and Lahore Qalandars are among the most successful teams in PSL history, as the only franchises to have won the title three times.
Previously, both teams had secured two titles each. However, it was Shadab Khan-led Islamabad United who claimed their third crown by defeating Multan Sultans in the PSL Season Nine final.
United also won the inaugural edition of the league in 2016 under Misbah-ul-Haq. Their second title came in 2018, when they were captained by JP Duminy.
Lahore Qalandars, on the other hand, failed to qualify for the playoffs in the first five seasons but later staged a remarkable turnaround.
They equalled Islamabad’s tally with back-to-back title wins in 2022 and 2023, defeating Multan Sultans in both finals under Shaheen Shah Afridi’s leadership.
The Qalandars continued their resurgence by clinching their third title in the 10th edition of the tournament in 2025, beating Quetta Gladiators in the final on May 25.
Islamabad United are the most successful side in terms of total wins in PSL history, having secured 61 victories in 112 matches, alongside 50 defeats, with a win percentage of 55.35, placing them at the top of the all-time wins chart.
Peshawar Zalmi follow closely with 59 wins and 53 defeats from 114 matches, making them one of the most consistent teams since the inception of the tournament.
Quetta Gladiators have maintained a strong record with 52 wins and 50 defeats in 104 matches, boasting a win percentage of 50.98, which reflects their competitive performances and regular playoff appearances.
Lahore Qalandars have registered 48 wins and 55 losses from 107 matches, with a win percentage of 46.22, showing significant improvement in recent seasons after struggling in the early years of the PSL.
Multan Sultans, despite joining the league later in 2018, have already accumulated 46 wins in 89 matches, with 40 defeats, highlighting their rapid rise as one of the most efficient teams.
Karachi Kings have recorded the lowest win percentage among the teams at 41.34, having won 42 matches and suffered 60 defeats in 106 games, placing them lower on the list compared to other franchises.
Islamabad United hold the highest win percentage in PSL history at 55.35, owing to their balanced squad and consistent performances across seasons.
Peshawar Zalmi rank second with a win rate of 53.09%, reflecting their regular playoff appearances and steady performances.
Multan Sultans are placed third with a win percentage of 52.87%. Despite joining the league in 2018, they have emerged as one of the most dominant teams in recent seasons.
Quetta Gladiators have a win percentage of 50.98%. While their performances have fluctuated over the years, they remain capable of delivering impactful displays.
Lahore Qalandars follow with a win rate of 46.22%. Although they struggled in the early seasons, their performances have improved significantly in recent years.
Karachi Kings sit at the bottom with a win rate of 41.34%, despite boasting a strong fan base and talented players.
