Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) franchise Fortune Barishal have turned down former Pakistan captain Wasim Akram's claims of paying $150,000 to play for the franchise in the 2024 edition.

Miller featured in three matches for Fortune Barishal during the 10th edition of the tournament, contributing to their first BPL title. Despite only scoring 47 runs for Barishal this season, the South African batter hit the winning runs in the final against Comilla Victorians,

While talking to a local sports channel a few days back, Wasim had said: "I just found out today because we were discussing who won the BPL as we were not following because of the PSL. David Miller was offered $150,000 to play three matches. He postponed his wedding."

Fortune Barishal owner Mizanur Rahman told Bangladesh newspaper 'The Daily Star' that Akram's claims are false and Miller didn't postpone his wedding.

"No, these [information] are not true at all. These are absolutely untrue and are false info," he said.

"He stayed because of his emotion [the emotional bond that he had created with the Barishal team members], not just because of money. Was Wasim Akram with the team? I know how much he [Miller] got paid. So, these claims are not true," he added.

It must be noted that BPL concluded on March 1 with Fortune Barishal beating Comilla Victorians.

Meanwhile, Miller recently tied the knot with his longtime girlfriend Camilla Harris. The joyous occasion was announced by Camilla herself, who took to her Instagram account to share glimpses of their special day.
