The race for Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 playoff spot has been intensified after Delhi Capitals defeated Rajasthan Royals in Delhi.

With four teams now at ten points while there are chances of other teams to sneak in the final four who have eight points, the level of the competition will be high in the remaining 14 matches as no team has qualified in the playoffs

Below are the IPL 2024 playoff qualification scenarios for all 10 teams:

Kolkata Knight Riders (16 points)

Kolkata Knight Riders are currently leading the points table and are in a favourable position to secure a playoff spot.

They need just one more win in their next three games to solidify their position. If they secure a victory, they will reach 18 points, putting them on par with three other teams.

Rajasthan Royals (16 points)

Rajasthan Royals currently hold the second position in the points table. They are in a strong position but need one more win from their next three games to confirm their spot in the playoffs.

Similar to Kolkata Knight Riders, a win would see them reach 18 points, alongside three other teams.

Chennai Super Kings (12 points)

Chennai Super Kings are positioned third in the points table. They require three wins in their remaining three matches to confirm their place in the playoffs. Like the other top teams, achieving three victories would see them reach 18 points, aligning them with three other teams.

They could also reach the playoffs with two wins or even just one win, depending on the outcomes of other teams' matches.

Sunrisers Hyderabad (12 points)

Sunrisers Hyderabad are currently in the fourth position in the points table. They need to win all three of their remaining matches to secure a playoff berth. However, they could also reach the playoffs with two wins or even just one win, depending on the outcomes of other teams' matches.

Delhi Capitals (12 points)

Delhi Capitals are currently fifth in the points table. While they can achieve a maximum of 16 points if they win all their remaining matches, their playoff qualification remains uncertain due to their current position.

Lucknow Super Giants (12 points)

Lucknow Super Giants are positioned six in the points table. They need to win all three of their remaining matches to guarantee a playoff spot.

Alternatively, they could also reach the playoffs with two wins, depending on the results of other teams.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Punjab Kings, Gujarat Titans (8 points)

These teams are struggling to secure playoff berths and face an uphill task. They must win all their remaining matches to stay in contention, with a better Net Run Rate (NRR) also being crucial while depending on others

Mumbai Indians (8 points)

Mumbai Indians find themselves at the bottom of the points table. They must win both of their remaining matches and rely on other teams' results for playoff qualification. As the league stage nears its conclusion, the race for the playoffs promises thrilling encounters and intense competition.
