Joburg Super Kings (JSK) captain Faf du Plessis once again demonstrated why he is regarded as one of the finest fielders in the game, making another exceptional catch, this time to dismiss MI Cape Town (MICT) batter Dewald Brevis.

MICT surged to a 200-run opening partnership, and Brevis had the responsibility of maintaining their momentum. With mid-on and mid-off positioned close to the batsman, the young player attempted to strike a delivery from Lizaad Williams down the ground.

Although Dewald Brevis didn't connect with the ball perfectly, he appeared to have hit it just enough to clear mid-off. However, Du Plessis retreated and executed a remarkable catch with a last-minute dive and an outstretched right hand.

MI Cape Town got off to a flying start, courtesy of an outstanding performance from the opening pair Rassie van der Dussen and Ryan Rickelton. The duo established a double-century partnership, with Van der Dussen achieving a remarkable century. Although Rickelton fell just short of a hundred, his significant contribution of 98 runs played a crucial role in propelling MICT to a colossal total of 243/5 in their 20 overs.

Despite the formidable score, Faf du Plessis and his team can take some satisfaction in their comeback during the latter part of the first innings. Lizaad Williams, Imran Tahir, and Nandre Burger bowled effectively to neutralise the threat posed by Kieron Pollard and Liam Livingstone.

MICT has still managed to set the second-highest total in the history of SA20. However, JSK may feel they've gained some momentum heading into the second innings and will be hopeful that Du Plessis leads them to a strong start.
