Pakistan's strength and conditioning coach becomes part of Multan Sultans for PSL 9

He is presently engaged with the Pakistan men’s team

Multan Sultans have appointed Drikus Saaiman as the fielding and strength and conditioning coach for the upcoming season of the HBL Pakistan Super League.

Saaiman, hailing from Bloemfontein, brings extensive experience to the team. He is presently engaged with the Pakistan men’s team and has previously contributed to coaching roles with the Pakistan women’s team as well as the coaching staff of South Africa's men's team.

In 2018, he served as the strength and conditioning as well as fielding coach for the Nelson Mandela Bay Giants, a franchise in the Mzansi Super League. Additionally, he has had coaching involvements with South Africa's A and emerging sides.

“I am very excited to be joining Multan Sultans and looking forward to my time at what will be my first stint at an HBL PSL franchise," Drikus Saaiman said.

“Multan Sultans boast some of the best T20 cricketers and a fantastic coaching staff. I am eager to join this dressing room, and play my role in helping this wonderful team through my experience. I am sure that being here will also help me further grow as a coach.”

Multan Sultans also announced Alex Hartley, a former English international and World Cup winner, as the assistant spin bowling coach. And now, Hartley, alongside Saqlain, is all set to lead the spin department of the 2021 PSL winners.

Earlier, Catherine Dalton was appointed as the fast-bowling coach for Multan Sultans. Spin great Saqlain Mushtaq is part of the side as the spin bowling coach and mentor while former chief selector Muhammad Wasim is the Assistant and development coach .

Remember, the date of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) Player Draft 2024 has also been confirmed.

The event will take place at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore on Wednesday, December 13, 2023. PSL 9 is tentatively scheduled from 8 February to 24 March 2024.
