Legendary Pakistan pacer Wasim Akram advised struggling speedster Shaheen Afridi on Tuesday.

Shaheen has bagged four wickets in three innings during the ICC World Cup 2023, so far, but at an average of 34.75. His economy rate, 6.31, is also on the higher side.

“He has been bowling well. Obviously, his confidence will be a bit low but he is a wicket-taking bowler. Even if he is not taking wickets, he need to just be normal and don’t try to do anything extraordinary. I’m sure one good spell and wickets with the new ball will get him back into rhythm,” Akram said on a local sports channel.

Pakistan have registered two wins in three matches during the event, so far, but their only defeat came against arch-rivals India on Saturday.

The Babar Azam-led unit will play their next match in the World Cup against Australia in Bengaluru on October 20.

Schedule of Pakistan’s remaining matches

November 11 - vs England in Kolkata
