India awaits NOC from Pakistan Interior Ministry to participate in West Asia Cup

The tournament will be played in Islamabad

India baseball team are awaiting No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Pakistan Interior Ministry to participate in the West Asia Baseball Cup, scheduled to take place in Islamabad.

The tournament will be played in the capital city from January 25 to February 1.

President Pakistan Federation Baseball, Fakhar Ali Shah said: "Indian side are waiting for NOC from Pakistan Interior Ministry. The members of the Indian team have submitted their passports for visas. "

Meanwhile, Pakistan granted visas to Palestine baseball team to participate in the tournament.

"Visas have been issued to the 21-member Palestinian team," Fakhar said.

The West Asia Cup is a six-team event, involving hosts Pakistan, Palestine, India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Afghanistan.

The home side's preparation are in full swing ahead of the event.

It is worth mentioning here that, earlier, the Baseball Softball Federation of India (BSFI) wrote a letter to Pakistan Olympic Association (POA) to confirm their participation in Baseball event of the XIV South Asian Games, which was initially scheduled to take place in March 2023, but the event was later postponed to March 2024 by South Asia Olympic Council (SAOC).
