Larkana Leapords win Sindh Super League 2022 in Karachi

KARACHI: Larkana Leopards beat Lyari Fighters by 1-0 to win the inaugural season of the Sindh Super League (SSL). 

In a grand final which was telecasted live on Geo Super, Leopards and Fighters displayed strong defense in first half. Taking the field in front of a decent local Lyari crowd, the two teams started counter-attacking opponents' goal posts. 

But, the first half of the game remained goalless despite a couple of close chances taken by the home side. After making strategy in the second half, the two teams once again fielded their men in key positions but the fans had to wait for the 80th minute when the first goal of the match was scored. 

Fighters fell short in their defense which gave advantage to Leopards' Ahsan Ali who was the lone scorer of the final contest. He netted the ball in 80th minute to take the visitors 1-0 up in the game. 

Till the final whistle, the scoreboard read 1-0 and Leopards won the exciting contest to lift the title. 

Leopards bagged the winning prize bag of PKR 15 lacs whereas runners-up received PKR 10 lacs. Third-placed Sukker Dolphins were given PKR 5 lacs.

In individual achievements, Fighters' Mohammad Umar was declared best goalkeeper of the tournament, Dolphins' Afzal was top scorer of the tournament, and Leopards' Ali Uzair was named best player of the tournament. Three of them received PKR 1 lac each.
