Cristiano Ronaldo’s girlfriend Georgina Rodriguez made a massive statement during her appearance at the Paris Fashion Week where she confirmed that the former Manchester United and Real Madrid star will retire in a year or so.
Georgina, who has been dating the Portuguese star since 2017, paid tribute to her boyfriend at Paris Fashion Week as she walked down the runway wearing Ronaldo’s Manchester United shirt, which was also signed by him.
As she stayed in Paris, the 30-year-old social media influencer interacted with the press where she talked about the rumours and speculations surrounding Ronaldo’s career and retirement as the five-time Ballon d’Or winner turned 39 in February.
"Cristiano one more year, then it’s over," she said in footage posted to Instagram. "Maybe two, I don't know."
While Goergina stated that the former Juventus star will play for a year or two at max, Ronaldo, in an interview in October 2023, confirmed he has his eyes on the 2026 World Cup.
“Things have happened in my life, both on a personal and professional level, that make me think more in the short term nowadays,” Ronaldo said to reporters earlier.
"People say I’m going to play on until I’m 40 or 41 years old. I don’t set these targets. It’s a question of just enjoying the moment, which is a good moment.
"I feel good. My body is responding to how I’ve treated it over the years. I’m happy both at my club and in the national team. I’ve scored plenty of goals, I feel in good shape physically. It’s a question of enjoying the moment.”
It is worth noting that Ronaldo has played for some of the biggest clubs in the world like Manchester United, Real Madrid, and Juventus where he created history and became a legend in little to no time.
Ronaldo played 438 matches with Madrid where he scored a whopping amount of 450 goals, a record that is likely to remain unbeaten, and provided 131 assists.
With Man United, across his two stints, the forward scored 145 goals and provided 64 assists.
In his 21-year-long career, Ronaldo also won the Ballon d’Or, the highest individual award in football, five times and clinched the UEFA Champions League many times as well.
