AMSTERDAM: Christian Eriksen Saturday scored a goal in his return to international football after suffering a cardiac arrest in the Euro Cup 2020.

The 30-year-old was playing for the first time for his country since the unfortunate incident in June 2021.

The midfielder, who has since joined Premier League team Brentford, hit the top corner with a fantastic finish at Johan Cruyff Arena.

Christian Eriksen says he had a "perfect" comeback to international football after scoring two minutes after coming in for Denmark against the Netherlands in a 4-2 friendly defeat.

"I was happy the ball came to me," said Eriksen, according to BBC Sports.

"I thought it was a lovely finish, and to start my international comeback like this is a perfect way."

Eriksen had a chance to score a second goal when he turned outside the box, but his curling shot struck the post.
