The already struggling Barcelona side have confirmed their squad which is set to face Bayern Munich in a must-win away Group E Champions League clash at the iconic Allianz Arena on December 9.

In order to progress to last 16, Hernandez's men desperately to win against Bayern in their back yard as a draw or defeat would open the way for Benfica who would make the knockout stages ahead of the Catalans with a win over Dynamo Kiev.

Barcelona will have to match or better Benfica's result against Dynamo Kyiv to secure a spot in the Champions League round of 16.

The hope for Barcelona is that Bayern Munich rest a couple of players, who are already assured of top spot by winning five out of five games, and there is also the added help of playing in front of an empty stadium due to coronavirus restrictions.

On the negative side of things, their striker Ansu Fati has also been ruled out of the all-important clash, Fati has missed recent weeks with a muscle injury and he will not be risked here.

There is, however, a place for young Ilias Akhomach, who has been brought in from Barcelona’s European B list for this one.
