Pakistan captain Babar Azam claimed yet another record during his 37-run knock in the third T20I match against New Zealand in Rawalpindi.

The 29-year went past Aaron Finch's record for the highest number of runs as a T20I captain.

Babar surpassed Finch's previous tally of 2236 runs in the 67th innings whereas the ex-Australian captain had made these runs in 76 innings

Most runs as captain in T20Is:

Babar Azam: 2246* runs (67 innings)

Aaron Finch: 2236 runs (76 innings)

Kane Williamson: 2125 (71 innings)

It must be noted that Babar is Pakistan's leading run-getter in this format. In 105 innings, he has scored 3749 runs with the help off 33 fifties and three centuries.

Remember, he was reappointed as captain in white-ball formats before the start of the New Zealand series while Shaheen Afridi was removed just after the one series.

It must be noted that Pakistan beat New Zealand by three wickets in the second T20I. The third game of the series is currently underway in Rawalpindi.

Both sides will move to Lahore, where they will play the remaining two T20Is of the series on 25 and 27 April, respectively.

The series is being broadcast live on Pakistan’s first sports channel Geo Super.
