Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal decided to make another offer for Manchester United’s midfielder Bruno Fernandes who joined the Red Devils in January 2020 from Sporting Lisbon.

The Manchester United captain became the latest high-profile target for Middle Eastern wealth, with Al-Hilal making a move for the Portuguese player in January.

As reported by Record in Portugal, an astronomical offer was presented to the 29-year-old by Al-Hilal to entice him to join the club.

However, Fernandes turned down the opportunity to move to Saudi Arabia, firmly believing that he still has unfinished business at United and in one of Europe's elite leagues.

Despite the initial rejection, Al-Hilal may come back to tempt Fernandes with another offer in the summer.

If the Portuguese decides to join, he would become a part of a club currently leading the Saudi Pro League, seven points ahead of Cristiano Ronaldo's Al-Nassr.

Jorge Jesus' team already features former Chelsea defender Kalidou Koulibaly, as well as Aleksander Mitrovic, formerly of Fulham, and Brazilian superstar Neymar.

However, they have been unable to register the former Barcelona and PSG star, who suffered an Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injury while on international duty.

Fernandes joined Manchester United in January 2020 and has made 215 appearances for the club, scoring 71 goals.

Last season, he secured his first major honour with the club, helping Erik ten Hag's side defeat Newcastle in the Carabao Cup Final.

At the start of the current campaign, the midfielder took over from Harry Maguire as the club's new captain.

He still has the opportunity to lift a trophy for the Red Devils this season in the FA Cup, with Ten Hag's side set to face either Bristol City or Nottingham Forest in the fifth round of the competition, the last remaining chance for the club to secure some silverware.
