Pakistani fast bowler Hasan Ali has talked about the upcoming first Test against Sri Lanka which will begin on July 16 at Galle.

Hasan took three wickets in the first innings during the warm-up match between Sri Lanka Cricket President's XI and Pakistan, which ended earlier today.

The 29-year-old expressed that playing the warm-up game was a good opportunity for the team to prepare for the first Test.

“We got a chance to prepare well during the two-day warm-up match and I am satisfied with my performance,” the pacer said in an interview. “I will try my best to perform in the Test series against Sri Lanka.”

Hasan also described how playing in the county cricket helped him regain his confidence.

“The performance in the county has given me a lot of confidence. I am also working on improving my batting by practicing in the nets,” he added.

“Adjusting to the weather helped the team during the warm-up match. We took 14 wickets and some players also scored runs, which is very crucial to build the trust before the start of the Test series.”

The two-day warm-up match between Sri Lanka Cricket President's XI and Pakistan ended in a draw in Hambantota.

The home side were 88-4 at the close of play on the second day.

Salman Ali Agha took two wickets for Pakistan, meanwhile, Shaheen Afridi and Naseem Shah picked one each.

According to details, Pakistan scored 342 runs in their first innings and took a lead of 146 runs.

Babar Azam, Shan Masood and Saud Shakeel scored fifties for the visitors.

Lakshitha Manasinghe claimed four wickets for the hosts while conceding 82 runs in 18.3 overs.

Azam was retired out after scoring 79 runs with the help of seven fours and a six.

Meanwhile, left-hander Shakeel was retired out on 61 runs with the help of six fours.

Sarfaraz Ahmed remained unbeaten on 17 runs as Pakistan were bowled out in 78.3 overs in their first innings.

Sri Lanka scored 196 in their first innings.
