Sergio Busquets announces retirement from international football

Sergio Busquets has announced retirement from international football after Spain's dismal performance in FIFA World Cup 2022.
The Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) said that the "living legend" has announced that his "stage with the national team is coming to an end."
For La Roja in FIFA World Cup 2022, the Barcelona midfielder served as captain. But the 2010 champions were eliminated by Morocco in the round of 16 on penalties.
The 34-year-old's last touch of a football for his nation will be an unpleasant memory.
Busquets moved forward to convert Spain's third penalty shot against Morocco. But like his teammates Carlos Soler and Pablo Sarabia, he was unable to score.
Moreover, Italian football journalist Fabrizio Romano said that the 34-year-old will also decide his with FC Barcelona.
"Spanish midfielder will also decide his future on club side between Barcelona and Inter Miami in the next months," he wrote.
After making his debut for Spain in 2009, he went on to win the FIFA World Cup in South Africa the following year and added the European Championships in 2012. He donned Spain colours 143 times.
