KARACHI: Pakistan top-order batter Shan Masood is set to get married on January 21, 2023.

According to details, the 33-year-old Masood will tie the knot with Peshawar-born Meeshay Khan.

The left-hander is the son of famous banker Mansoor Masood Khan, meanwhile his uncle Waqar Masood Khan served as advisor to former Prime Minister Imran Khan on revenue and finance in the capacity of a Minister of State in Cabinet.

The Kuwait-born has featured in 25 Tests, five ODIs and 19 T20Is over the course of his career for Pakistan, while accumulating nearly 2000 runs.

He made his Test debut against South Africa in 2013, whereas he was handed the international cap in ODIs and T20Is in 2019 and 2022 respectively.

Masood also has vast experience in first-class cricket with over 9000 runs in 144 matches.

Masood’s elder sister had passed away, who suffered from a rare chromosome disorder that had seriously affected her development, last year, meanwhile his younger brother is a barrister.

Masood’s marriage will be at a time when Pakistan won’t be playing international cricket, since New Zealand’s tour will end on January 15 and the players will be out of action till the start of the Pakistan Super League on February 9.

The batter is currently preparing for the upcoming Test series against England, which starts on December 1 in Rawalpindi, and is excited about locking horns with a flamboyant English side.

“Every player likes to make big scores in Test cricket but we will assess the conditions first in Rawalpindi,” he said.

“It will be an interesting series because we will be up against a team which has changed the way Test cricket is played,” he added.

The England team arrived in Pakistan earlier today, Sunday, for the much-anticipated tour.

After the first match in Rawalpindi, the second Test moves to Multan starting on Friday, December 9, and the final Test of the tour will take place at the National Stadium in Karachi, commencing on Saturday, December 17.
