BOSTON: The Boston Celtics upset the Golden State Warriors 116-100 to take the 2-1 lead in the NBA Finals.

Jaylen Brown top-scored for the Celtics as he managed 27 points, out of which 17 were in the first quarter.

Jayson Tatum scored 26 points, and Marcus Smart added 24 for the Celtics, who rebounded from their game two loss.

"I wanted to impose my will on the game and be aggressive.

"Whether I miss shots or not, I'm going to keep playing. My teammates believe in me to make the right play to get the best shot. All that matters is that we got the win," said Tatum.

The 17-time NBA champions lead the best-of-seven series 2-1 heading into game four in Boston on Friday.

Stephen Curry led the Warriors with 31 points, including six three-pointers, but was forced to leave the game in the fourth quarter after appearing to injure his left leg.

The Warriors, who had cut their deficit to four points going into the fourth quarter, were led by Klay Thompson's 25 points and Andrew Wiggins' 18.
