SAN FRANCISCO: The Golden State Warriors defeated the Dallas Mavericks 120-110 to clinch a berth in the NBA Finals.

The Warriors earned a 4-1 win in the Western Conference finals after missing the previous two years due to Klay Thompson's 32-point performance.

Since the Chicago Bulls in the 1990s, they are the only team to reach the Finals six times in eight years.

From June 2 to 6, the Golden State Warriors will play either the Boston Celtics or the Miami Heat, with Boston having the opportunity to capture the Eastern Conference finals at home on Friday.

The Warriors won the NBA title in 2015, 2017, and 2018, defeating the LeBron James-led Cleveland Cavaliers each time, but they lost the finals in 2016 and 2019 and missed the playoffs while rebuilding their squad in the previous two seasons.

From 1991 through 1998, the Bulls headed by Michael Jordan won six NBA championships, with Golden State coach Steve Kerr playing in three of them.
