Mohamed Salah had a heated argument with his manager Jurgen Klopp in a Premier League match between West Ham United and Liverpool at the London Stadium on Saturday.

Salah was benched following a poor performance in the Merseyside derby on Wednesday and as he was waiting to step on the pitch with 11 minutes plus additional minutes remaining, that is when the incident occurred.

After West Ham missed a chance, the German turned to the Egyptian and the two exchanged words, Salah had to be pushed away by his teammates Joe Gomez and Darwin Nunez.

After the 2-2 draw, Salah talked to the reporters where he declined interview requests saying: "If I speak today there will be fire."

After Salah left the reporters, Klopp talked to the reporters but he refused to elaborate on what happened between him and his player.

"We spoke already in the dressing room. For me, that's done." Asked if Salah felt the issue was closed, Klopp said in his press conference: "That's my impression, yes."

"I'm not in the mood to talk about that to be honest or look at that at all," Klopp toldTNT. "We had to win here, we knew that, and we didn't, and now we have a little bit more time between now and the next game. We try to get the boys ready again and we will go again."

Liverpool were on the verge of claiming their first Premier League title since 2020 but a poor run of form, where they crashed out of the UEFA Europa League as well, saw them drop to third position in the league as they have won only one match in their last five league outings.

With just three fixtures remaining, Liverpool remain on third position with 75 points from 35 matches, behind Arsenal and Manchester City.

As Klopp is set to leave the Merseyside club at the end of the season, it seems there will not be a fairytale ending for the German who created history with Liverpool.
