Legendary singer Ustad Rahat Fateh Ali Khan will be performing at the opening ceremony of Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2020.

It will be the second time that the crooner, who has roots in Qawwali, has been invited to sing at a PSL ceremony. He had done the same at the launch of PSL 2 in 2017 in the UAE.

The highly anticipated PSL 2020 opening ceremony is set to take place at Karachi's National Stadium on February 20 (Thursday), where the preparations are underway in full swing.

Rahat is scheduled to arrive in Karachi a day prior — February 19 — for his PSL performance.

He holds the distinction of performing at the Nobel Peace Prize ceremony in 2014 and at the United Nations General Assembly in 2016.

Ali Azmat, Asim Azhar and Arif Lohar are among the singers also expected to make an appearance at the PSL 2020 launch as they have sung the tournament's official song: Tayyar Hain.
