The Pakistan Super League (PSL) season nine Draft is set to take place on December 13 at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore but the rumours have already stormed the social media.

We have seen some of the biggest trades in the past days with players like Imad Wasim, Hasan Ali, Iftikhar Ahmed and Naseem Shah changing their teams in the most unexpected fashion and the transfer of above-mentioned players has only fueled more rumours.

Karachi Kings traded their captain and the Player of the Tournament of last season, Imad Wasim, with Islamabad United’s Hasan Ali. Kings, who are without a captain at this moment, have a vacant position in their squad.

Pakistan’s newly-appointed Test captain, Shan Masood, looks to be the man to lead the Kings for the much-awaited PSL 9 as the franchise will compete to win their second title.

There have been strong rumours of Shan joining the Kings and the rumours have been fueled more by Karachi Kings’ latest post on X, formerly Twitter, where the franchise addressed the left-handed batter as “Captain Shan Masood” after he just scored 150 in a four-day match against Australian PM XI on Wednesday.

“Captain Shan Masood shines with a commanding 156* runs, supported by a solid 41 & 40 from, Sarfaraz Ahmed & Babar Azam as Pakistan sets a total of 324-6 on Day 1 against PMXI,” Kings posted on X.

While this could be nothing more than just an appreciation post for the Pakistani Test skipper for playing fantastically, it may also indicate that we might see Shan donning the blue and red jersey soon.

It must be noted that there have been reports that Tayyab Tahir will be traded to Multan Sultans to finalise Shan’s move to Karachi.

Reportedly, Mohammad Amir will also leave Karachi Kings and his move to Quetta Gladiators has been finalized and could be announced anytime soon.
