LPL 2024: Shadab Khan signs for Colombo Strikers

Pakistani all-rounder Shadab Khan has signed for Colombo Strikers ahead of the Lanka Premier League (LPL) 2024 which is set to begin on July 1 in Pallekele, Sri Lanka.

Shadab, who has also served as the vice-captain of the Pakistan cricket team in T20Is, will be joining the team after the T20 World Cup 2024, which will be played in the United States and West Indies from June 1.

Taking to their X, formerly Twitter, account, the Strikers welcomed Shadab stating that they could not wait for him to join the team.

“Game changer alert! @76Shadabkhan is now part of the Colombo Strikers family! Can't wait to see him in action,” the Strikers posted on X.

The LPL 2024 auction are set to take place on May 21st where 420 players will be undergoing the Player Auction.

“The Lanka Premier League 2024 wishes to announce that 420 players, both Sri Lankan and overseas, will go under the hammer during the much-awaited ‘Player Auction,’ which will take place on Tuesday, May 21st, in Colombo," confirmed SLC on Friday.

"Out of the 420 players, 154 are Sri Lankans, while the remaining players are overseas."

Players from 24 cricket-playing nations, encompassing all the ICC full member nations, have enlisted for the upcoming player auction, vying for selection into one of the five teams.
