Pakistan fast bowler Mohammad Abbas has returned in the top 10 of International Cricket Council’s (ICC) Test ranking for bowlers.

The 29-year-old pacer had soared as high as number three on the list in October 2018 before a glut of limited-overs cricket saw him slide down the list.

In the latest rankings issued by the governing body, Abbas is placed 10th on the list with 770 rating points to his name.

He trails West Indies’ ninth-placed Kemar Roach by 10 points and leads India’s 11th-placed Ravindra Jadeja by six points.

The next Pakistani on the index is Yasir Shah, who finds himself in the 16th position.

No Pakistani batsman is among the top 10 Test batsmen, with Babar Azam, also 16th, being the country’s highest-ranked representative.

Australia’s freescoring Steve Smith and pacer Pat Cummins remain at the top of the batsmen and bowlers’ lists respectively.
