Shoaib Malik, Misbah-ul-Haq to reunite in Sindh Premier League

They will represent Hyderabad Bahadurs in SPL

Former Pakistan's national teammates Misbah-ul-Haq and Shoaib Malik are all set to reunite in the upcoming inaugural edition of the Sindh Premier League (SPL). 

SPL management, today, confirmed that their third franchise, Hyderabad Bahadurs, has been sold out to businessman Jahanzaib Alam. The team owners and SPL management held a press conference in Karachi today to share more details about the team. 

During the presser, the team owner announced Shoaib Malik as captain/Icon Player and Misbah-ul-Haq as head coach. Misbah was also present at the press conference. 

So far, three teams - Hyderabad Bahadurs, Karachi Ghazis and Benazaribad - have been sold out. A total of six teams will participate in the event which is likely to be played in Karachi in September. 

Earlier this year, former cricketers Shahid Afridi and Abdul Razzaq launched the first-ever SPL. "The Sindh Premier League is not just about promoting cricket as a sport, it's about empowering our youth & building a brighter future for our region. Let's support this fantastic initiative and help our young cricketers reach their full potential," Afridi had written on social media. 

Afridi will also be seen in action during the SPL, as announced by him earlier. 

The all-round cricketer recently captained Asian Lions in Legends League Cricket in Qatar. Under his leadership, Asian Lions won the tournament.

The explosive batter last featured in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) in 2022. He last played for Quetta Gladiators in the league. 

Later on, he featured in Kashmir Premier League (KPL) but couldn't play all the matches due to fitness issues.
