Wahab Riaz inaugurates cricket high performance centre in Sialkot
The facility will entertain young and talented cricketers in the city
Wahab Riaz, sports advisor to CM Punjab Mohsin Naqvi, has inaugurated a cricket high-performance centre in Sialkot.
Taking to Twitter, Riaz shared pictures of the newly inaugurated high performance center.
"Inaugurated Cricket high performance centre project in Sialkot. This State of the art project has all required modern amenities and facilities for cricket training, coaching, and accommodation. The project is completed at a cost of Rs 1 billion. DG Sports Punjab, DC Sialkot and Sialkot Chamber officials were also present during the inauguration ceremony," he wrote.
Soon after taking charge as provincial sports advisor for the very first time, Wahab has been too active in sports circles.
In Ramadan this year, he successfully hosted first-ever Ramadan ul Mubarak Sports Series featuring events of badminton, hockey, cricket (tape ball), football, kabaddi, and table tennis.
He also visited several sports grounds in the province and directed the upgradation of multiple grounds of cricket, hockey, and football.
The cricketer-turned-administrator had also announced to host summer camp from June 12.
"The sole purpose behind hosting summer camp is to promote sports and healthy activities. This incredible summer camp is specifically designed for age groups under 8 and under 14, offering sports coaching with equipment in 14 sports disciplines. I request all the parents to make the most out of this camp. Let’s have a productive summer break!!" he had announced.
