Bayern Munich's new signing Joao Cancelo's first priority was to join Real Madrid before joining the Bundesliga side.

According to Marca, Cancelo wanted to join Real Madrid, but the Los Blancos' board of directors made it apparent that the team will not make any moves during the winter transfer window.

Many people thought Los Blancos needed to bolster their team, but the club had a different opinion.

Cancelo was one of the players who was linked with a move to Real Madrid, but the team had no interest in hiring him.

The Portuguese full-back departed Manchester City for a loan deal at Bayern Munich, but his agent attempted to get Cancelo an offer from the Spanish giants,

However, the 14-time UCL champions weren't even open to talks about a possible signing.

Instead, they are relying on right-backs Dani Carvajal and Lucas Vazquez, whose deals are set to expire in 2025 and 2024, respectively, while Alvaro Odriozola's contract is set to expire at the conclusion of the current season.
