Chairman of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) management committee Najam Sethi and national team's skipper Babar Azam had an interesting interaction after he presented the Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy for ICC Men's Cricketer of the Year and ICC Men's ODI Cricketer of the Year trophies to the batter at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on Wednesday.

Babar won the awards last week for performing exceedingly well in 2022.

He scored 2598 runs in 44 matches at an average of 54.12 with eight centuries and 15 half-centuries in 2022.

"Four years ago a friend asked to take care of a boy named Babar Azam. That friend told me to remember he would make a great batter. That day and today, I thank this friend," Sethi said.

Sethi asked Babar how he feels about his fame at this age and if he is ever worried about his form. To which, Babar replied: "I just work hard, try to keep things simple. I keep my mindset simple and focused, which makes cricket easier."

"I keep myself ready for all situations. What you think or want to do sometimes doesn't happen. When you're down or out of shape, you need support," he added.

The 74-year-old remained positive about Babar winning the awards in the future and said he is proud to present the trophy to the top batter.

Sethi continued the conversation with a hilarious comment on Babar's height.

"Is he taller than me, or I am getting shorter," he said.

Babar responded to the question interestingly and said: "My height is 5 feet 10 inches, and the shoes are also big."

Sethi also inquired if there is pressure after winning many awards, and the 27-year-old accepted there is pressure, but said it should be handled.
