The Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise Lahore Qalandars are looking to create history in the upcoming edition of the T20 tournament.

Chief Operation Officer (COO) has claimed that the Qalandars want to become the first team to win back-to-back PSL titles

“We want to become the first team to win back-to-back PSL titles. There is no pressure on us due to the champions tag since we have seen difficult times in the past,” said Rana.

He also provided an update about skipper and star pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi.

“Shaheen Afridi if fully fit and he will lead Lahore Qalandars during the upcoming season of PSL. He has regained bowling rhythm and is currently training with the Pakistan team,” he said.

“Under his leadership, we will try to defend our title,” he added.

Rana was also satisfied with the squad assembled by the Qalandars during last month’s draft in Karachi.

“We are satisfied with our team combination. Bowling is our strength but we also have world class batters,” he said.

Rana also hoped the PSL will grow under the leadership of Najam Sethi, who was recently appointed as the chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Management Committee.

“Najam Sethi started PSL at a difficult time and the tournament needs an administrator like him once again,” he concluded.

The eight edition of PSL is scheduled to be held from February 13 to March 19, 2023.
