Pakistan head coach Saqlain Mushtaq has said that he is happy with the performance of the national team players during the second Test against England at the Multan Cricket Stadium on Monday.

The hosts needed 157 more runs when play started on day four in order to complete their second-highest successful run chase and level the series.

However, England took their final six wickets in just two sessions on day four, winning the series.

In an exclusive interview with Geo.tv, Saqlain said he was happy with the performance of the inexperienced squad despite the series loss.

"I am happy with the performance of the national team players in the Multan Test. England's team depends on experienced players. Pakistani players do not have much experience of red ball.

"Saud Shakeel and Mohammad Nawaz cannot be praised enough. Imam-ul-Haq came from the hospital and batted well. I am happy, but unfortunately, the result did not go in our favor," Saqlain said.

The former cricketer hoped that the players have learned from the Test and

"You either win or learn. I hope the players have learned a lot. We will review the mistakes that have been made," he stated.

Moreover, Saqlain revealed that a spin track will be made for the third Test at the National Bank Cricket Arena in Karachi.

"Karachi wickets will also be favorable for spinners. A spin wicket will be made so that the ball turns more," he added.

Talking about the performance of skipper Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan, he said: "Everyone has hopes for Babar and Rizwan. It's not possible that everyone can score. The public and the media see runs, wickets, and wins, but a coach sees confidence, belief, control, action, and focus. Rizwan always looks confident and super fit."

The third and final Test of the three-match series will take place at the National Bank Cricket Arena in Karachi from December 17 to 21.
