PSL 8: Karachi Kings confirm arrival of Shoaib Malik
The all-rounder is likely to be appointed as Karachi Kings' captain
KARACHI: Veteran cricketer Shoaib Malik has re-joined Karachi Kings, the franchise confirmed Friday.
Kings traded their last Pakistan Super League (PSL) season's captain Babar Azam with Peshawar Zalmi to get Malik for the upcoming eighth edition.
Taking to Twitter, Kings confirmed the arrival of Malik in the team for the upcoming PSL episode.
Malik's association with the Kings as captain remained controversial in the inaugural edition of the PSL. Under his captaincy, Kings won only two matches which forced him to leave captaincy in the middle of the tournament.
He represented Kings in PSL season 2 as a player but soon after that season, he moved to the then newly inducted PSL franchise, Multan Sultans as captain.
He played his last three PSL seasons from Zalmi as an all-rounder. According to some reports, Malik is also set to become the new captain of Kings for PSL 8.
