KARACHI: Former Pakistan captain Sarfaraz Ahmed said that including his biography in the fourth-class Urdu syllabus is a big honour for him and his family.

The fourth-class Urdu syllabus book now includes a biography of Sarfaraz, the captain of Pakistan when it won the Champions Trophy in 2017.

The 35-year-old extended gratitude to Sindh government for including him in the syllabus and said it was a big honour for him.

"My message to the children is that keep working hard and hold Pakistan's flag high."

"Thank you! This is a big honour for me. As role models, we endeavour to inspire children. I would always be there to play my part in these efforts," the wicket-keeper batter wrote on Instagram.

It should be mentioned here that Sarfaraz led Pakistan to its maiden ICC Champions Trophy in 2017 when Pakistan beat arch-rivals India to clinch the title in England.
