Pakistan won overall eight medals in Commonwealth Games 2022

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif will meet Commonwealth Games (CWG) 2022's medalists on their return to the country. 

Pakistan bagged as many as eight medals in the CWG 2022. Arshad Nadeem (Javelin Throw) and Nooh Dastagir Butt (Weightlifting) bagged gold medal, Inam Butt (Wrestling), Zaman Anwar (Wrestling) and Mohammad Sharif Tahir (Wrestling) won silver medals whereas Hussain Shah (Judo) and Inayatullah (Wrestling) grabbed bronze medal in the multi-nation event. 

Taking to Twitter, PM Shahbaz congratulated the medalists and vowed to meet them on their return. Meanwhile, the premier asked other athletes to not lose hope and keep working hard. 

Arshad, 25, won a gold medal for Pakistan after 60 years. Arshad registered several records after throwing at a distance of 90.18m in the final of CWG 2022. 

The Pakistani Javelin Thrower managed to gain attention across the world and set an example in the country. 

He will now travel to Turkey to participate in Islamic Solidarity Games which are scheduled from August 9 to 18.
