KARACHI: Emma Raducanu has reportedly acquired a new coach as she prepares to defend her US Open title.

According to the MailOnline, the 2006 Davis Cup champion Dmitry Tursunov will serve as the British number one's coach, and their first tournament together will be the Washington Open the following week.

If their first time working together goes well, he will lead the youngster through the North American hardcourt tour, which would conclude with her second appearance at Flushing Meadows.

The former world number 20 resigned from tennis in 2017, but over the past five years, she has coached some excellent players.

Along with world no. 1 in doubles Elena Vesnina and Russian Aslan Karatsev from the ATP Tour, he has also worked with Belarussian Aryna Sabalenka. Tursunov most recently collaborated with Estonian Anett Kontaveit; the two parted ways last month after working together for less than a year.
