MELBOURNE: Former Australian skipper Steve Smith heaped praises on Shaheen Shah Afridi and Hassan Ali after facing their fierce swing bowling during their tour to Pakistan back in March-April.

Smith talked about the Pakistani bowlers in cricket.com.au’s The Unplayable Podcast, Smith said reverse swing was way difficult to face in Pakistan.

"Facing reverse swing was a difficult task for us during our tour to Pakistan," the batter shared.

"When I used to come at batting, I had to face fierce spell of reverse swing. Then, I had to change my plan," he said.

"Shaheen and Hassan were too good on Pakistani pitches. They were unplayable most of the time," he added.

Smith regretted not being able to score centuries in Pakistan. "It took me some time to understand swing bowling in Pakistan. That's why I wasn't able to score centuries," he stressed.

It must be noted here that Australia beat Pakistan in three-match Test series 1-0 by winning last Test in Lahore.
